STEINER ADDS TWO COMPACTS, TWO FULL-SIZE MODELS TO POPULAR MERLIN BINOCULAR LINE
Moorestown, N.J., Nov. 01, 2004 – Steiner continues to expand its popular Merlin binocular line and will debut four new models at the 2005 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Jan. 28-31, 2005. The new models include two compacts -- 8x24 and 10x26 -- and two full-size models -8x50 and 10x50.
All Merlin models are center-focus, roof-prism binoculars with high-end optics, precise focus and close-focus range to within 8 feet. Developed with input from Steiner Optics' championship birding team and experts at the American Birding Association, the Merlins are ideal for backyard birders, serious hobbyists or anyone who appreciates the outdoors.
Waterproof and encased in dark, non-reflective, rubber-armored bodies, the Merlins can be used outdoors under any conditions. The earth-toned armoring actually camouflages the binocular to a bird's eye.
Each model uses Steiner's in-house ground and polished optical glass. To enhance brightness and ensure maximum transmission of natural colors, the Steiner Merlins are equipped with fully multi-coated optics, with numerous applications of anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass optical surfaces. The roof prism optics in the Merlin series are phase corrected to prevent image distortion.
The new Merlin binoculars will be available nationwide in early spring 2005 through Steiner's network of dealer locations and are protected by a 10-year warranty.
