GREELEY, Colo. -
A Commander 7x50 Marine Binocular with HD (High-Definition) Optics
and a hydrophobic "NANO Protection" coating for all
outer lenses has been developed by Steiner's Optical Engineers in
Germany. Waterproof and submersible to 10m/33 ft of pressure depth,
the 37 oz. rugged marine binoculars are purged and over-pressurized
with Dry Nitrogen to 6-7 psi. They exceed military shock and
waterproof standards, and carry a 30-year Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The lens polishing process and fully, multi-coated optics of the
Commander XP's optic system yields the highest light transmission,
optical resolution and color fidelity available in any hand held
marine binocular used in night or daylight operations.
The Commanders are available with or without a waterproof,
illuminated compass. The compass version includes a reticle system
that allows for quick distance references to objects of known size or
heights.
The NANO-Protection Coated exterior lens coating on both the front
objective and rear eyepiece lenses rapidly repels any water and
moisture condensation. Also, when used with running water as a
flushing agent, dirt, dust and debris are also easily cleaned from the
NANO-Coated lens surfaces when the binocular is then hand shaken dry.
The XP Commander also features a NBR Long-Life Armoring that will
last over two times longer than conventional rubber coverings yet it
retains a comfortable grip and slip-proof feel for the user.
Three different pairs of eyecups are also included with the
Commander XP. These eyecups will aide users who customarily view with
prescription glasses or who prefer the sidelight protection of
"winged eyecups" or just require an extended eye relief. The
Commander XP Binoculars come with a Clic-Loc Neck Strap and a
Clic-Loc, Yellow Flotation Strap. An optional cross-back shoulder
harness is also available.
The 7x50 Commander XP's incorporate the exclusive Steiner
automatic focus system. Once set for the user's eyes, the
binocular keeps all objects in focus at distances from approximately
20 yards to infinity. Because of the greater depth of focus field in
the Porro-prism 7x50 Commander, the focus feature allows the mariner
to scan an entire seascape without having to readjust the focus wheel.
The Commander XP with an integral compass can also be faster in
locating navigational marks, harbor entrances, boats and other man
made objects when used in conjunction with this integral compass.
Headquartered in Germany, Steiner has been an acknowledged leader in the manufacturing of quality binoculars since 1947. In addition to the outdoor, hunting and marine markets, Steiner provides products to military and law enforcement worldwide. Allied forces around the world, including the U.S. Army and countless law enforcement agencies, have made Steiner their binocular of choice. For more information visit www.steiner-binoculars.com
