STEINER OPTICS INTRODUCES BIG GLASS FOR BIG GAME

Optics Leader Launches 15x56 Big Horn

MOORESTOWN, N.J. October 16, 2002 Mountains, plains and prairies, when glassing for distant big game -- elk, caribou or antelope -- you need a high-powered, high-performance binocular that helps you “get close” from hundreds of yards away.

Steiner Optics today announces the launch of the 15x56 Big Horn binocular, available in early 2003. After a successful test market during 2002, Steiner discovered most hunters and outdoor users found the added power a welcome feature for a hand-held binocular, especially when glassing in open, Western-type conditions. As the name implies, the Big Horn binoculars are lightweight, powerful and very rugged, perfect for viewing distant mountain game.

The 15x56 Big Horn is not a pocket binocular or theater glass; it’s a tool for serious hunters. For continuous glassing while afoot or from your 4-wheel drive vehicle, the 15x56 Big Horn comes equipped with a built-in tripod mount to accommodate tripods or window mounts. Yet, because of its light weight, this binocular can be easily hand held. more… The 15x56 Big Horn is a porro-prism binocular that provides up-close views of distant objects. Featuring Steiner’s highest-grade optical glass and BAK 4 prisms, it delivers exceptional sharpness and brightness.

The new Big Horn features Steiner’s military proven, fully multi-coated optics which enhance brightness and contrast. With Steiner’s Sports Auto-focus system, all subjects are in full focus from approximately 50 yards to infinity, with no need for focus adjustment once set for the user’s eyes.

The Big Horn offers 20 mm of eye relief with profiled wrap-around eyecups, a beneficial feature that blocks distracting side light. The eyecups can also be pushed back so hunters can use the binocular even when wearing eyeglass or sunglasses. Clad in forest green rubber armoring, the 15x56 Big Horn is easy to grip, waterproof and fog-proof with a rugged shockproof construction made to withstand the elements. At just under 45 ounces, the binoculars pack easily when on foot.

The Steiner 15x56 Big Horn will be available through Steiner’s network of retailers in early 2003.
